SUGGESTED ITINERARIES

Itinerary through cathedrals and spiritual locations

This itinerary is one of the most classic routes in Apulia. The great basilicas, like San Nicola of Bari, the spectacular
cathedrals and churches in Trani, Ruvo di Puglia, Bitonto and many more centres that create a scenery of the Federician art
that had its blossom in the first half of the 200.
The white stone of the cathedrals in Apulia mix in great with the blue sky and the brilliant colours of our lands.
The religious buildings also reserve authentic emotions: such as great architectural works that are indissoluble and
protagonist of the scenery.
They are history of the land they are in, but most off all they are real works of art: a mix of decore, volume that
follow traditions in centuries. These examples show the different tipes of culture that had dominated the land in the ages.

Archeological and museum itinerary
It is hard to reassume in not many lines the wide archeologic patrimony present in Apulia.
The dolmen and the neolitic installations, the necropolis, the proof of the greek and local civilty, peucetic and
japigian, the splendid architecture of the romanic cathedrals define the beauty of a land to explore.

The stone habitat itinerary
The church and the stone nucleus in Apulia, that date back to the bizantine denomination( IX – XII sec.), gather the
artistic aspects and also the life and language aspects, the devotional aspects of the rural communities and most of
all the relations between East and West.
This route is not very homogeneous, because the locations are dislocated where the conformation of the territory let
man dig and create real rural village.

The Castle itinerary
The confinant position of Apulia, made it necessary to build fortificated structures to defend its territory creating
a great artistic and architectural patrimony, that assumes the Svevo- Normann features in synthesis with local art.
Stone that speak of our thousand year old history touched by the sun and sea.
Apulia, overlooks the Adriatic Sea has a great and wide coast that had to be defended by enemies, invasors, pirates,
it is rich of towers that were used as “watchers” for centuries. Extraordinary examplesof defensive buildings are symbol
of a local vitality.
Certainly a beatiful vision for those who want to admir the beauty of the variety of the artistic constructions.

Natural itinerary
Land of natural and unique scenes, farms, olive landscapes, where incontaminated nature and man meet. This route unties in the suggestive murgian territory, but also in underground territories. Infact thanks to our karst nature the land is full of water in the depth and so it has beautiful embroideries such as the Grotte di Castellana.

Pilgrim Itinerary
The numerous sanctuaries and social locations are the preffered destinations of pilgrims and faithfuls. Behind every
sanctuary there is a supernatural and miraculous event.

The Murgia's Trulli
Other carachteristic of Apulia are the Trulli, particular stone constructions that have an original cone shape; they
are situated especially in the Valle D'Itria area.
These constructions are konwn in all of the world for their beauty and singleness, they rappresent one of the most
extraordinary examples of the Iatalian architecture.
Entering this area very different for soft wavy hills covered with vineyards and greeen spots of woods, lined stone
walls, coned houses even the most distracted tourist feels like walking into a magic place.

EnoGastronomic Itinerary
A warm region, welcoming rich of tastes and colors, it offers a variety of extraordinary different landscapes.
The vacation will be even merrier thanks to the tasty Apulian cuisine, simple and fullfilling based on a combination
of genuine elements of land and sea.
